Our Origin
It all began behind the scenes of the theatre world
The father of Dassen Cuisine
Manny Dassen, born on March 25, 1959, in Maastricht, son of puppeteer and actor Pieke Dassen (known for, among other things, the character August in the film by Uncle Willem), has developed himself, in addition to his artistry as a scenographer, portrait painter, textile designer, and painter, also as a caterer/cook for film, theater, opera, and events. Since 2020, he has been running a small food truck catering business, Manny's Kitchen, together with his son Appie.

The continuation from generation to generation
The son of Dassen Cuisine
Appie Dassen, born on February 2, 2003, in Maastricht, son of Manny Dassen and grandson of Pieke Dassen, spent his younger years pursuing his passion for sports, specifically Parkour. He was a pioneer in establishing a community for young people in Maastricht to express their talents. Additionally, he focused on his desire for personal development through traveling the globe and working abroad in two Michelin Guide restaurants located in Zermatt, Switzerland, where he nurtured his newfound passion for cooking, consecuently joining his father on a new adventure within the Catering World. Which ultimately led to the creation of Dassen Cuisine.

Catering inspired by the world of Theatre, Opera and Film
Stagecrafted Tastes
The family name Dassen is not only reflected in the company name, Dassen Cuisine, but also strongly influences the concept of our catering business. It weaves its way into the recipes, dishes, and atmosphere that we, as a company, embody, ensuring that honest and homely flavors are always served. Our slogan, "Stagecrafted Tastes," tells the story of our origins, working from the theater floor itself and, as a 'customer,' observing many catering companies come and go, the ultimate formula was created. From our own knowledge and experience, we reflected and interpreted until the flavors of Dassen Cuisine were born.
